A key feature of American cuisine is variety. If one is curious to investigate but hampered by time, a place to visit to gain an appreciation of the wide-spectrum of the American larder is Las Vegas. For all its pomp and spectacle, Las Vegas seems to feature virually every type of cuisine in America, whether it is Italian, with its vast array of pastas, sauces, and meats, Mexican, or, even, Redneck.
For the latter, check out country singer Toby Keith's restaurant inside Harrah's casino on the strip. It's called I Love This Bar and Grill, after one of his songs, 'I Love This Bar.' One might be astounded to find such delights as deep-fried Twinkies or plates of nachos, as an appetizer, that would fill the back seat of most European cars.
Another interesting place is the Paris casino. It features a French-style buffet that showcases foods from the different regions of France, in true American style.
Whatever your fancy, American cuisine is sure to provide something that tickles the sweet tooth and hits the spot.
